I am attempting to install OpenELEC on an old Aspire One netbook that's been collecting dust in my basement.
I downloaded the 32-bit release of OpenELEC, and ran the create_installstick.exe program onto a USB. I verified this USB works by using it on my desktop PC and selecting it from the bootable devices.
Upon attempting to boot into the USB on the netbook, however, the system hangs on the very first BIOS boot screen (the one that says press F2 to enter bios and F12 to select boot order). Neither pressing F2 nor F12 works unless the USB is not plugged in.
Without the USB plugged in, the system boots just fine into Windows XP (yes this thing is a dinosaur).
The system is running on an Intel Atom N270 at 1.6GHz with 1 GB of ram.
The bios is InsydeH20 v0.03310
