Hi,

I want to set up a Power Supply Cable with 1 x 4-Pin to 4 x SATA Connectors, so that my four HDD/SSD's can run off this cable. The cable I am considering has the four SATA connectors for the drives and a male 4-pin Molex cable and the other end. I have a modular PSU and it will not allow me to plug in a 4-pin Molex cable into it directly, so I need a jumper cable of sorts, one that will act as a bridge between the male Molex cable and the PSU, but I cannot seem to find what I am looking for on any computer sales sites. Can anyone point my in the right direction. Thanks.

Solution
What you describe should have been included with your modular PSU when it came. You need the cable that provides one or more female 4-pin Molex power outputs from the PSU so that you could connect to devices (like older IDE drives or optical units or fans) or to your 4-pin male Molex connector. Such cables are not standard - they are unique to the PSU maker's design of what connectors they mount in their modular PSU cases. You best bet may be to contact the PSU maker with the exact model number of your unit and ask how to buy such a cable.

Hey,

You were right. I fortunately still had the original PSU box with cables included and it has one that does the job. Wow. That was easy. Thanks a lot.

Thanks for your looking into the cables. I could not believe how cheap they were at less than a dollar. It turns out the person that answered after you hit the nail on the head. I actually had the necessary cable in my original PSU box that I kept with the extra modular cables. So I am good to go. Thanks again.
