CPU and GPU combo

So I am building a new computer and I have a few questions. If I get the i7 4790k with a GTX 960 4GB will I be bottlenecking my CPU? If it is, should I just go with the i5 4690k and get the GTX 960 4GB

if the PC is just for gaming, go with the i5 and invest the money you safe in a gtx 970

well the i7 would be better for video editing, but seeing as you say mainly gaming the better choise is still the i5(if you wont overclock go with the 4440 or 4460 or so) with a gtx 970. this will give you better gaming experience.

At your budget, get the i7. The difference is significant in just about everything but gaming. I would not get an expensive cooler and motherboard though. I would probably get the 390 over the 970 for a 144hz monitor.
