Hi guys, I want to overclock my FX 6300. I was going to buy a Hyper 212 or T4 but they both won't fit inside my case. This leaves me with the option of the TX3 Evo.

I have a few questions.
The max fan speed is 2,200 RPM (EU Version). My current amd stock coolers fan can go up to 3,400 RPM which is much higher. Since the TX3 has much lower fan speeds than my stock cooler (over 1000 RPM difference) will it make a difference in temperatures?

Secondly my CPU temperature sensor is broken so Speccy and HWMonitor give me the wrong speeds. Is there any way I can find out my CPU temperature?

Thanks.

The little TX3 is vastly superior to the stock AMD cooler. You can't go by fan RPM alone. The fans are different size. They have different pitch. It is about the CFM they produce. The TX3 will run quieter and provide sufficient headroom for OC'ing. I still have my TX3 I bought many years ago. I just recently used it on my old Phenom II X4 965BE OC'ed @ 4.0 GHz and it cools very well.

If you are in a bind for cooler height, don't forget to also look into a small AIO like the Corsair H60 liquid cooler. No height problems with those.

Yes, it's a very cheap motherboard with vrm heating issues. Its the MSI 970A-G43.

Well then the TX3 will probably hinder cooling performance. You want a down firing cooler like this-
