Hi,

I have recently sold my gaming rig on ebay, I have never shipped any kind of pre-built desktop computer and I need tips to make sure the thing gets there in one piece. Please let me know what I can do! Anything will help!

+1 for QSV's suggestions. Make sure the rest of the internals are secured well (hdd in sled if it's not screwed in and instead uses plastic tabs or similar quick release style). Unless it's the stock air cooler or a well secured aio I'd remove the cooler and pack it separately, same with the gpu. Both those things can create a lot of stress on the motherboard or pcie slot bouncing around in transit and could easily damage the motherboard. Styro sheets like Tradesman1 mentioned, especially around the case directly to protect the finish and/or window if it has one. If windowed, maybe tape a piece of styro sheet to the inside as well (just to be safe, avoid scratches). Packing peanuts work well as does bubble wrap. Insurance on the...

As tempting as it might be to tuck the gpu or cooler (bubble wrapped or similar) inside the cavity of the case to save room it might be best to pack them outside the case even if it's in the same box as the tower to prevent any potential bouncing/shifting inside the case and damaging any components. If possible wrap the graphics card in an antistatic bag if you don't have the original box it came in if you're packing it up in a homemade fashion.

so what Im going to do is remove the heatsink and gpu, Im going to put it in the original case box thing.
Ill also put a styro sheet over the window and out a bunch of packing peanuts inside, does that sound good?

I built it, Im shipping it built.

I'd put packing peanuts around the case in the box, between the case and box. Not inside the case where the components are. Wasn't sure exactly which you meant when you mentioned putting the peanuts inside. If it's the stock intel cooler, it should be fine to leave it in. The ram shouldn't go anywhere. All the rest of the components should be secured well enough to travel fine, hard drive, power supply is screwed to the case etc. The only reason for removing the gpu is it's heavy and only secured by the pcie slot at the rear and the pcie slot on the motherboard. They can flex a lot in travel and the weight of a graphics card bouncing will transfer stress to the pcie slot which can easily damage it.
