Hello Toms! I have a rig I threw together on a whim, but there are some games I am interested in playing soon or in the near future, and it's time to upgrade.

I'm running a Z97M Anniversary motherboard from ASRock with a Pentium G3258 & XFX Double Dissipation R9 290.

As implied, I'm dealing with an 1150 socket and would like to find a good price point for good gaming performance.

For the curious minds, I always intended on swapping out the current proc, I just wanted to play around with OC'ing it - I've had it for a while, and will likely drop it in a new desktop for the kids... But I digress!

Thanks in advance.

If that's your socket, the obvious choice for gaming is the 4690k. Between that and your G3258 there are other parts at various price points to consider, but if you can afford the $200 or so then that will give you the most bang for your buck by far.
