It looks like I need a new motherboard, after frying my old one, as described here The processor I have (assuming it's still functioning) is an I7-2600K 3400MHz.
From what I've read, that processor is still a good performer, even 4 years after I bought it. So I'm thinking I may as well get straight replacement for the motherboard I've lost, and keep my existing processor and memory.
The one doubt I have is if I want to upgrade my graphics card at some point, will the older motherboard support the newer graphics cards?
I'm finding it difficult to find a suitable motherboard. Ideally, I'm looking for one in Europe, but I could also purchase from the US.
Can anyone recommend a good one?
Update to add a couple that I've found:
Asrock Z75 Pro 3
Asrock ZH77 Pro 3
The memory I'm using is this (DDR3 PC3-12800 Unbuffered NON-ECC DDR3 1600 1.5V)
Thanks.
