So I had recently noticed my gpu was running at 70c and 90% while on idle and it was hurting my performance in games so I ran malware bytes, avast and windows defender and had gotten 3 Trojans removed, and the problem went away, or so I thought, I had unplugged my internet while doing this and after the scan was done my temp and usage went back down to 40c and 0%. was only until today I noticed that it only goes up to 90% load and 70c when I plug my wireless adapter in and I get internet connection, I unplug it and it immediately goes back to normal. cant find anything using an excessive amount of cpu (except steam even though its not open)in task manager process and cant find anything at all in use under gpu when I run process explorer. Can someone please help me fix this? I can unplug my internet and demolish games but if I want to play online my performance drastically suffers from this. it seems a lot of people have the same problem and it being related to a bitcoin mining virus which I thought I had and got rid of but now I'm just confused.

If its any help I'm running windows 10 and system as follows:
Intel i7 4770k
Evga 980ti axc+ sc+ ASrock Z87 extreme 4
G. skill ripjaw series 8gb (2x4gb)
Seagate 1tb Hard drive
Corsair HX750 psu

Please note that I have already used gurus driver remover and did a clean install of nvidias latest windows 10 driver. any and all help is greatly appreciated!

YT downloader is an infection, by the way. If you google it, you'll see lots of information about it. Regardless, I still recommend that you download and run ADWcleaner and Combofix, before your computer gets so deeply infected that it becomes more complicated to remove the virus/trojan.

It looks like a bitcoin virus since it needs to be connected to the Internet to work.
Try running your antivirus software on safe mode, it is the best to make sure you get rid of the virus completely.
If you can't get rid of it you might need to reinstall Windows.

okay so I actually think I might have found whats doing this but I don't know how to proceed maybe you have some insight on what to do, I had a file called steam in my task manager process using most of what was being used in my cpu column thinking it was the actually steam app but it only had the icon of a blank page with a folded corner (don't know file types I'm sorry) and as soon as I ended the task my gpu load went down to 0 and my temp went back down to 34c (i did NOT have steam open or any games or apps, wasn't even logged into steam) now is this actually the steam app doing this or is this just malware disguised as steam components? should I backup all my saves and uninstall/reinstall steam to fix this problem? I also looked at what programs started on windows startup and found CLI start and YT downloader, both with no publisher name and neither will allow me to locate file, so i disabled them. so far my gpu has stayed at 0 since doing all of this but idk which is causing this, any thoughts?

I agree with drixkarasu, that you should scan for infection to be on the safe side. Download and run ADWcleaner and Combofix, in that order. You can download them from the Bleeping Computer website. They will both reboot your computer, so make sure to save any work and also save your browser tabs, if necessary.

After you run the programs, does this problem persist?
