i7-4720HQ 4th core less hot under load

Hi, I own a P650SG Clevo barebone laptop and have applied some Gelid Extreme on its i7-4720HQ CPU. The temps were very bad before I applied it, but it's getting better now.

I do have one question though: How come my 4th core performs way better, temperature wise, than the other three? I've attached a screen illustrating the core temps after a ThrottleStop 1024M 8 thread TS Bench. Are my temp sensors off, is my heatsink not properly applied, which I doubt cause no matter how I do it, this phenomenon persists. Or is my CPU or heatsink just crap?

Thanks :)

Okay, I guess I'll just have to live with it then. Would have been nice though if all cores would perform the same as the fourth one... :pfff:

Strange thing is, idle temps for me are very similar for all cores. Only under load, be it TS or Prime95, the 4th core gets about 7-9 C lower temps than the first three cores. How's that with your CPU?

I'm not sure. I have many background programs running, like skype, utorrent, winamp, firefox and the like. The hottest idle core goes to 32, but comes as high and 36. It's fluctuating a bit, since cpu usage is low, under 10%, but always above 0.

I consider that idle, and 34c is the average of that fluctuations. I think that's normal and very close to 29 of the coolest core. I've been using this CPU for almost 2 years now, and that's just how it's behaving. Its perfectly stable and I'm very happy with it.

I'm using hyper 212 evo and my 4770k is running on stock.
