I use corsair psu power supplies when I need to replace any and find them to be very good & reliable but I do tend to over rate and replace oem equipment of 350w with 500 or 600w.
What I do not understand is the tier list not even rating these and someone states its not a good PSU
Can anyone shed an light on them as I am beginning to question myself.

Their pretty much garbage you can buy better quality for about the same price, and for future reference Corsair has never made a power supply and never will their all rebrands with their good name coming from Seasonic and most of the rest are just moneymakers.

oops did not scroll that far down, thanks but still puzzled as it states avoid if possible, does not the fact that I always over rate help.
Other wise I will have to use other types but really puzzled as they have been a good psu from my point of view but I am trying to push the boundary on this build. which is why the size choosen.
Does a i7 4790 need any special PSU specs?

tier 3 and 4 and mainly used as "budget" builds but many tend to stay away from them as the psu is the most important component. No, the 4790 does not require any special psu specs that would depend mostly on your GPU
