Hello,

I would like to know if my monitor: Samsung Syncmaster P2270HD (it comes with 1 HDMI port, 1 DVI-D dual link port and 1 VGA port)

My graphic card is a: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 960 - G1 Gaming - 2GB GDDR5 (2 DVI-D ports one of them can actually connect to my monitor, but it also has a HDMI Port)

I really need help since my monitor only one HDMI port is been used by my xbox 360. What should I do? If I want have good performance from my GPU, do I need to connect my monitor to the GPU with HDMI or DVI-D Dual link?

Note: if HDMI is really a must and required to get most out of the GPU I will just remove the HDMI from my xbox 360 and then connect to the GPU.

Thank you in advance,

Thank you!

I have a qeustion, my only HDMI is currently connected from my Monitor to my Xbox. If I wanna enjoy HDMI on my GPU I need to remove from the Xbox to plug into the GPU. Or just buy a DVI-D dual link wich my monitor is? Is it true I can only see the video and not hear the sound from DVI-D or is that if you combine HDMI with DVI-D?

Well my monitor has DVI-D Dual link though I might use it but, I just stick with HDMI

This may sound weird and I have no experience at all but, If I connect the HDMI cable from my monitor to the GPU..that will leave the xbox without HDMI. Although I though it support console and GPU. But then I have to move the cable everytime I switch from console to PC and PC to console. I am kinda okay with it but meh sucks to have 1 HDMI output on a monitor. Might buy in the future one with extra HDMI! :D

P.s if I use a DVI D. Does that means I need HD audio cables from my own or retail? So I can use DVI D with sound and video since I dont need to remove the HDMI from console to GPU.

thanks for all!!

I couldn't find online if your monitor has a separate audio in port besides the HDMI... it should since it has speakers. If it does, you can just buy a DVI cable and a 3.5mm male to male audio cable like this:

http://www.monoprice.com/Product?p_id=9564&gclid=CJjg3MjouscCFQGqaQodA4oAlA&kpid=109564

(Just make sure you get one long enough... that one is only 3 feet)

That way you can keep all cables connected all the time and not have to switch any.

Yes it should indeed, it has a: R, L, Pr, Pb and Y (Red, white, red, blue and yellow) also it has a: Digital Audio Out (optical)
If I buy the DVI-D with 24 pin and also the 3.5mm male stereo audio cable. Where to I put those in? Where on my monitor, should it has a color corresponding to it?

Note: http://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=645 that should be ok?

The R, L, Pr, Pb and Y you are referring to are on your computer right? When I mentioned a separate audio port, I was referring to your monitor. It will just be a small round hole (normal audio jack like you find on cell phones/mp3 players). One end of the audio cable will plug into there and the other end will plug into the back of your computer, depending on your motherboard it will most likely be green.

Oh my bad, well those are also on my monitor aswell. Ah I see it now the hole is compatible for: HDMI/PC/DVI-D Audio in. I have found it haha it was between the DVI-D port and VGA port.
