Hi folks. Woke up and the htpc signal to the TV was flickering black, had red "snow" noise on reboot, and then signal died. Things we've tested:
-GPU on dvi monitor works
-both TV hdmi inputs work
-mobo HDMI is grainy and purple tinted. Worked for 2min but also started flickering
-swapped hdmi cable with known working one on gpu and mobo, same symptoms
-temps normal, drivers updated

I've never had a single port go out on an otherwise healthy GPU. The monkey wrench is that onboard hdmi had similar symptoms. Would hate to buy a new GPU if that may not fix it. Thoughts or suggestions?

Uninteresting thread is uninteresting. Borrowed another desktop. Tested video card OK but new card appeared broken. We have a 5 to 1 hdmi hub for the cable box, game console, etc. Our very first test was moving to a proven good port in the hub...
It was a false positive! 2 consecutive ports died at once. So when it showed bad GPU, it meant bad hub port.
Many hours wasted but hooray for not having to buy new parts!
