I have dropped my hard drive.

1-) When plug with a USB, nothing
2-) When plugged with a SATA bus
a) If plugged as bootable, I can boot on C and go in recovery mode. Almost no files can be listed from command line
b) If plugged as second drive, I can only see it with special software or disk management. The problem is that using EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard 9.0, I got all my files.

So my question is why if all my files are accessible, why can't I access the drive throught normal ways? Why is it? I'd like to know so I could maybe solve the problem and recuperate my hard drive, even if I'M already really happy I was able to recuperate everything.

It IS damaged somewhere. Just not where your data is. There are other areas of the disk beside your data.

Thanks for the answer.

I know that datas are worth more which is why I specified in my question I'm glad about it.

So my point being if it's not that damaged and I can start it again with a tool. I think it's worth doing so. If the datas are all still there, this means it's not too damaged I guess?
