Does anyone give a crap about the ESRB anymore?

I played Far Cry, The Witcher and Doom all at the age of 13. I'll admit, my brain loses oxygen when I see a 7 year old having his dad buy him the Latest GTA, but I don't see anyone use the system at least to an extent. (Ex- I'm fine with a mature 12 year old playing the Witcher, not a 10 year old) The only exceptions are the conservative, soccer mom extremist parents who won't let their kids have some violent fun.

Without proper parental guidance to explain the things in those games you mentioned many children wouldn't be able to safely process the information they present.

Don't act like you're special though, my parents let me watch movies regardless of their rating and play any games I want AND gave me a computer with an internet connection in my room when i was probably 7 or 8.

When you grow up some more you'll understand the importance of the ESRB more.

But America has a separate cultural issue with things like violence and nudity it needs to get over as well. Sex still may be a bit much for younger kids. But if you're a "teenager" you should be educated in what sex is anyways.
