So, recently I've had this issue where when playing relatively taxing games like The Witcher 3 or Dragon Age Inquisition for two or three hours, a sudden and completely random buzzing sound will start with the screen freezing. The computer is completely unresponsive too. I can't alt+tab or get to the task manager. For all intents and purposes the computer is frozen. I manually restarted the computer with the buttons on the tower both times this has occurred. This, however, caused a major problem. When windows 10 finally rebooted the start menu and many other functions seemed to be missing. Like the default program for pictures or the notification menu off to the side. The only option that seems to restore windows back to working order was to reinstall the operating system. Both times this happened I ultimately had to do that. I'm wondering what exactly the issue might be. Why is my computer suddenly hard crashing in such a major way when I play games on it? I've read countless threads but can't seem to find any answers for my specific problem. I'm at a loss and really don't know what is wrong. I think its my graphics card as all signs point to that but I can't be 100% sure. Can somebody please help me get to the bottom of this so that I can not have to worry about my computer dying again? I'm moderately knowledgeable of the basics but nothing advanced.

My specs are as follows:
AMD FX 8320
AMD Radeon R290X 8GB
16 GB RAM
Two Hard drives. C drive is 1 TB E drive is 2. (I run most of my games off the E drive)
600 Watt PSU
Windows 10 Pro

I have the latest drivers for everything and up until a few weeks ago my computer never gave me any trouble like this.
