I am getting a 1000 mbps fiber optics broadband connection. Can i use a Belkin N600 DB router for wi-fi for home usage? Or do i need to upgrade to a AC type router?

Solution
Your Belkin N600 would work, but you would only get 100mbps connections (1/10 of capacity of your connection) to the internet, as it only has a 100mbps WAN port.

You should probably get a newer router that has gigabit (1000mbps) ports (both WAN and LAN ports), also at least dual band AC 1200 wireless to take full advantage of your internet connection speed.

Here's a list to start with http://bit.ly/1iPr5DB (sorted by good brands and gigabit wan/lan ports).

Thank you. This is in HK - the charge is approx. USD 30/- per month, but the service provider is running a promo ; normal cost is about 3 times higher.
