I have an Acer computer that gets stuck on bios (occasionally.) To fix one has to hook up any other SATA hard drive (does not even have to have OS on it.) It will get past bios. Turn computer off put old hard drive back and it will boot like a charm.
To make matters difficult this is a computer that I do not have direct access to (it is 500 miles away) with a user that is not technically proficient.
Any thoughts on what is causing/how to fix this permanently would be very appreciated.
