Hi guys,

How could I max the performance of E5 2687 V3? not sure how to setup to use it's max turbo frequency. I am using all default setting now.

Thank you very much!

It will use maximum performance when there is thermal headroom. That is a 160W CPU. You had better have some serious cooling. It is also a 10 core CPU, unless you have something that is VERY threaded and a lot of I/O bandwidth, you will have difficulty keeping those cores busy. Disabling hyper threading in the BIOS may actually improve your performance. You would have to benchmark to determine if you get a benefit from hyper threading.

Any suggestion on improving the cooling system (2U case)? we are using default cooling solution of CPU. Thank you.

I apologize for being short. But, if you are choosing to build from parts, rather than purchase a commercial system build, then you need to know what (and why) you are buying each piece since you will have to maintain it.

No prob and thanks a lot for your suggestion, you were right, I need to get everything clear if build from parts... I will contact HP sales tomorrow, but it's pretty good to familiar with these parts, thanks a lot:)

For what you want, an HPC system, Silicon Graphics has a lot of experience in HPC.
