1 Long Beep, 2 Short Beeps, No Video (No Graphics Card)

I just built a PC that doesn't work for some reason. When I try to boot, it beeps one time long and two times short. From reading through a bunch of threads I figured that that means something is wrong with the video output (BIOS up to date, had to send the motherboard in for update). I have no Idea what to do/look for (first time building.. :I )

Motherboard: MSI A78M-E35
CPU: AMD Athlon 860K 4x3.7GHz + boxed fan
RAM: 8GB crucial ballistix
no GPU

You have a CPU with no built in graphics and no discrete GPU. It is trying to tell you that you don't have a graphics subsystem.

Your problem is very simple: your cpu has no integrated gpu. there's nothing to process graphics.

thanks... I didn't even know there still are CPUs without an integrated graphics module... I feel very stupid now

just ordered a simple 30€ one.

That is the difference between the A10-7850K and the 860K -- same CPU -- A10 with graphics 860 no graphics...
