Short version. Screen is turning off and on every second during games and videos. Changed the monitor, didn't help. GPU was the suspect until I did some benchmarks which pointed out that it's the CPU at fault. Anyone knows if it's my cpu at fault here? Or what could it be?

Hello. I will try to keep it short. A few weeks ago my screen started turning off and then on over and over again during games. After a few days this started to happen on online videos as well(youtube, twitch etc.). It once happened when I was opening new tabs in my browser and even when I was simply checking some personal files of mine. It has days when it works just fine but in the end this problem always returns. I changed my monitor and this is still happening. Temps are between 45 and 60 degrees celsius. Nothing high.

Here is a video of this problem. (jump to 00:15) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arxj1C_N5Uo It's important to mention that the pc isn't crashing at all, and even when the screen turns off you can still move ingame, hear the sounds and the same in videos as well. You can even press printscreen while the screen is off and if you paste it in paint you will be able to see what the pc was seeing while the screen was off.

I've sent my pc to the store where I bought it it for. They ran some benchmarks(they say) and the pc worked just fine. I took it home and for the rest of the day it worked just fine, but the next day it started all over again with the screen turning off and on.

The primary suspect was the gpu up until I did some 3DMark benchmark. The first 2 tests of this benchmark are GPU related and the screen kept on staying on. The next 2 tests were the physics and combined tests, and on those two the screen kept on turning off and over over and over again. I've read that the physics test is stressing up the CPU. I also did a CPU stress test with CPU-Z and the screen just turned off and on over and over again after 1-3 minutes.

Anyone knows if it's my cpu at fault here? Or what could it be?

PC specks:
CPU: AMD FX 4350 4200 ghz
GFX card: Sapphire AMD RADEON HD 6570 2GB GDDR3 128bit
MB: ASUS M5A78L/USB3
PSU: 500w RPC
RAM: 4GB DDR3 1333hz
Up until 2 weeks ago I had no problem with the pc. The pc is 2 years old.

I am just confused why this happens even when I stress the CPU with CPU-Z. I just press a button and the cpu is stressed, nothing graphical appears.
But indeed, might be the graphic card.

Not that I can think of in this specific instance. Best attempt may be to remove your graphics card and connect your monitor to the integrated graphics or the processor (using the connector on the I/O back-plate. That way you reduce the load on the PSU and also eliminate the graphics card. If that still flickers, then you are correct and I am mistaken. :)

Edit; Ah crap, that FX does not have integrated graphics. Sorry.

One thing I just noticed, circa 1 month ago I was in vacantion for a whole week and when I came back and turned on my pc, my PSU started making some weird, not loud at all, cooler noise like it's touching something. 2 weeks later my screen started turning off and on. I wonder if it's a coincidence. I've never paid attention to it up until now.
