The Main problem is that recently my PC has started to shut down abruptly while working on it. Normal browsing is okay, however when i start multi tasking ( such as listening to Media Player ) or run multiple Copy-Paste cycles' -or- if i want to Install Adobe ( or similar software like that ). Even the same thing persists when I play games. CS GO runs for like 5mins then the CPU abrupt;y powers' down. This erroneous situation came to light, while i was using Win8.1 two weeks back ( suddenly not due to any software changes or installing any form of bloat ware as i tend to keep my stack of software running on my machine to be compact ) and still continues even after installing Win10 for a few days.
In this time span i have cleaned all the contacts of RAM, GPU, etc along with cleaning every inch of the CPU cabinet and the motherboard ,and carefully opening and placing each component back in their place. I have changed my SMPS which was originally rated at 450W to a new one of 500W, but to no avail. The Micro-processing chip i use is an AMD Phenom II - X4 955 coupled with 8 Gb of RAM and an AMD Radeon HD 5450 of 2Gb Virtual Memory and a Gigabyte GA-880GM-USB3 motherboard.
I have been running this same Rig since 2009, so this problem has just come to light. I cant get any work done, Please suggest something, if you have any idea to this problem's solution?!

First of all, try to figure out what are the CPU's temperature peaks. You said that the computer usually shuts down when in heavier use loads. Check on system's setup for the temperature details, the ideal CPU's temperature should be under 60ºC/140ºF, above this limit, there may be restarts, power outages, freezes, performance losses and lifetime reduction.

As i live in India, the temperature averages might be a bit higher still, but my CPU temp is always around 65-67 Deg Celsius. That was always from the beginning, never wavering. What can i do to solve this problem??

Do i change my whole setup?! :O

67ºC is considered a high temperature, but reasonably acceptable, this temperature can be the problem. Generally, if it's a Power or Temperature problem, the computer usually restarts or shuts down instantly without any Blue Screen of Death message. Hardware components with electronic defects can be the problem too, if you are using two RAM sticks, try to use with just one and check if the problem occurs again, you could also try to open the case and put a portable ventilator near to the CPU area to help cool down.

I last Replaced the paste a year back. All Fans are working, presently i have opened all the side panels of the CPU cabinet to let Air pass through unhindered. I have 2 X 4Gb Ram sticks, As you said i used one slot each and one ram combo, nothing worked. Same problem, whenever i put on Mozilla along with Media player it shuts down!
