Is this ram config good?

I have 1 8 gb stick and 2 4gb sticks and my motherboard has 4 slots and is dual channel. It won't cause problems will it?

I would be surprised if it even booted. Let alone run stable. But if you already have the sticks, try it. See if it works. Don't expect much though.

no that is a terrible ram configuration for ram you should have it in sets of 2. you dont. you should match the size. you didnt. you should match the make and model. you didnt. ram can be vary particular sometimes and sometimes it will work. however you will not get vary good performance out of that. if you had another 8 gig stick exactly the same as that one it would work ok.

Give it a shot and let us know, try the 8GB stick in slot 1 closest to the CPU and the 2 4GB sticks in slots 3-4 to try and run dual channel
