Have FIOS into Actiontec MI424WR Rev.1 router. It feeds a wired connection and a few wifi devices. I need to add additional wired upstairs, away from router. I have a wired outlet upstairs, and want to use my old Linksys BEFSR41 as a switch for a few wired devices. How do I connect to the Linksys to turn off the DCHP? I don't want to disturb the Actiontec. Thanks

Check the manual, eg here
- Reset the router if you don't know current IP address / password
- Connect only your PC to the router, open a browser at 192.168.1.1
- Configure it as per your likings
- Give it a static IP address from your existing Actiontec network
- You might have to connect your existing cable to Actiontec to the "Uplink" port

Note: Brand-new 10/100/1000 five-port switch will be like $20.
