Why can't we have Glass/Metal phones with removable backs?

So I bought the S6 Edge Plus 128 GB... and I have one HUGE question to ask....

LG makes metal phones with a metal back that can be removed to remove/replace the battery and expand the storage.

HTC - Does Not
Samsung - Does Not
Apple - Does Not

Is there a real valid reason they won't give us phones with metal/glass removable backs to swap batteries and add storage? I just want to know why they don't do this... We pay out the holy ass for higher GB phones that don't have expandable memory, whereas phones that do, you buy the lowest GB phone with a 64 - 128 GB Micro SD Card for what...30-45$?

Is it not common sense at this point to just make the back removable?
This "trend" is pissing me off and needs to be put to a stop.
We know it's possible to make a glass/metal back that can be removed, so do it.

Yep it`s called locking down hardware.
So you are forced to go back to the maker or manufacturer of a Phone.
Where they can Charge you a fortune in repairs or component fixes such as a bad, worn out or faulty battery.
And make more profit from the fact, And yes they do do it on purpose.
Apple being one of the biggest, money grabbing company's.
Charge a fortune in prices to fix i phones and I pads if you go though them for device repair, and your warranty has run out on the device.
They can charge you up to £200 pounds for replacing an I pad Lcd screen or more in price.
where as if you know what you are doing and how to take and i Pad apart you buy a new screen off e-bay for about £50 and do it yourself.
It also why they make the devices so hard to get into.
So you end up breaking it even more if you don`t full know how it comes apart right.
Sneeky isn`t it.

Think of it like when you buy a printer these days they are quiet cheep to buy, then look at the cost to replace the ink cartridges via the maker of the printer.
Same trick, more profit.

Yes.. But LG makes their phones with metal and still manage to have removable backs, it is possible.
Why did Samsung choose to do away with removable backs when they switched away from garbage plastic?
Just give us the glass phone design of the Galaxy S6 Edge, with a removable back and expandable memory. -_-

What he said, but actually even more extreme then that. They don't *really* want you going *anywhere* for hardware, what they want is for you to just buy a new phone. If they make it expensive enough and inconvenient enough, you won't get it repaired or replace the battery or what not you'll just finance a new on contract phone.
