Hey guys, i've been pondering on this for a little while. Gtx 780 only has 3 GB Vram, in a few games it's been dropping below 60 fps ultra (eg Shadow of Mordor). Do i upgrade to a gtx 980ti now...or wait till next year (apparently next year) for the Nvidia pascal gpus? I'm relatively new still, i trust others judgement over mine.. I only play at 1080p.

Solution
I would stick with the GTX780. That is still a great GPU.

I don't think the Return on Investment is going to be very good right now far as an upgrade.

I would hold off until next year for pascal. Nvidia's next Gen GPUs should offer a significant increase in performance. Those should be worth upgrading to.

For 1080p the GTX 780 is all you need. It is acceptable that some very heavy games can make the graphics drop below 60 fps. For Shadow of Mordor It's normal that it will drop below 60 on ultra on a very good graphics card.

My advice? Keep that beast of a GPU and enjoy the fact that it runs every single game with beautiful graphics.

But going forward, it'll drop below ultra at the end of 2015. Do you think the pascal gpus will be early 2016 or late?

Read the other day that they're releasing their next line 'backwards'
so early 2016 they'll release the flagship, so the successor to the 980ti and then go down throughout the year

Well the flag ship won't be the equivalent ti will it? Or you meant titan> then ti? So maybe 6 months till upgrade?
