So i bought this new gtx 960 yesterday, i put the gpu on my case and for the first time i use this cable called PCI-E, since i never used it on my old GT 740, when i try to boot the pc, nothing happens and i saw a spark coming out from the GPU, i get worried and took it off inmediatly. My pc is not turning on, so i can't test if the GPU is still working, i would like to know if there is some method to test if the GPU is alive (like paperclip test for power supplies). I have spent months saving up for this GPU, please i need help, im desperate. Fact: Where i live there is humidity of 80+%. There wasn't any weird smell or anything, and i don't see any burnt or anything where my eyes can see. Im really worried, even if fix all of this problem and the GPU works, will that spark incident reduce the graphics card life?. I repeat, i bought it yesterday so im seriously thinking about using my warranty to change it for another one, thanks to everyone who replies.
