I'm about to purchase an i7-6700k CPU and 2800 G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4 Ram and I'm undecided on which mobo to buy.

I am currently looking at the following. All four are similar priced:

MSI S1151 ATX Z170A Gaming M5
Asrock S1151 ATX Z170 EXTREME6+
ASUS S1151 ATX Maximus VIII Ranger
ASRock Fata1ty Z170 Gaming K6+

I have two standard HDD's and a SSD. I'll be keeping my GTX 650Ti Boost GPU, and hopefully my 650W PSU.

I'm after the best overclocker for CPU speed, with plenty of connections for my hard drives, etc.

Do ethernet connections make a difference? Would that be a deciding factor?

Thanks for your quick answer Tradesman. Naturally you picked the most expensive one, although there's not much in it!

Why would you pick that one? What makes it better than the others?

Actually the Deluxe is about $80 higher, and when I looked at NewEgg, they had the Ranger at $1 more than the Hero, which I didn't understand as the Ranger is lined up as a little brother to the Hero. I went with the Hero as it was the best of the Z87 and also the Z97 mobos. I'll prob get a Ranger down the road, wanted a Z97 Ranger but they didn't sell them in the States (though they did come out with the Pro Gamer). Also checked with some folks I know at a few DRAM makers and they say it's handled everything they tried with it.

I'm in Australia, and the Ranger is definitely cheaper than the Hero (by about $50AUD).

Ranger is about $15-35AUD more than the others. I was leaning towards the MSI one until your recommendation.
