Sorry I'm new at this. I just got all my parts together and also a really cool case without a slot for the drive. H440 it is. I see some people build Gaming pc and they just fast foward to the point where they already install Windows into their PC (ones without the drive slot). I'm wondering what other way to install this? Do I have to download it from Microsoft? Will pirate works? wait I can't even use my PC yet how do I even install it in?

Solution
Download the installation media to a bootable flash drive

or

Just keep the side of your case open for the test boot, which is normal, and connect an optical drive as you would normally. Just sit it on the top of your case etc. I have done this in the past.

or

Just simply buy an external disc reader~

Here, get a different computer and a 4GB + flash drive. Then, install this on to your flash drive on a different computer.

Then, boot from your flash drive and then you can enter your Windows product key and then install Windows. We don't support pirating at tom'shardware, please don't do it. You can probably get cheap product keys over at G2A.

Get 64-bit, not 32-bit Windows.

After you install it, you can feel free to boot back up from your hard drive you installed Windows on.

Download the Windows ISO file and transfer it to a USB flash drive. Then go into BIOS and set your boot order to boot from the flash drive first, then restart the machine and install windows.

Once you are done go back into BIOS and just make sure that boot order is set back to your internal HD you install windows onto.

No, you can't use 1 product key on two computers unless it's a special/multi-activation one. In this case, it's not. Pretty much every product key that comes with computers are not multi-activation. You will need to get a new key. Install the media/ISO to a USB drive, then plug it in to your computer, go into your BIOS, and set the primary boot to the flash drive, then save and exit.

Alright, to make things simple, no version of Windows is free. You will need a product key for Windows.
