Hello, I currently own a TOSHIBA Satellite A500 running Windows 7 64-Bit (The model is PSAR9A-02S001)
I looked everywhere on google for a solution to my problem but none of them worked so I decided to just ask here where it seems that the support from the community is fast.
So anyways, My Realtek High Definition Audio is in a state that I can't even explain anymore.
Sometimes it disappears from the device manager and sometimes it's there but you can see a yellow exclamation point (!) beside the speaker logo or if I'm lucky I get sound but only for one use (When you turn off your computer and turn it on again, the sound is not there anymore)
I tried to right click and check whats wrong with the drivers and it said that it cannot start (Code 10)
Plus, everytime I start the computer, windows tries to find a ton of drivers and fails to download them anyway which I think is related to the Realtek driver since the drivers windows tries to download is called "Unknown Audio on High Definition Audio Bus"
Here are the things I have tried before writing this thread,
- System Restore
- Downloading from Toshiba Australia support (Since my laptop came from Australia)
- Running the driver from Toshiba Australia support at admin mode (Gives me BSOD after prompting me to restart)
- Uninstalling the driver entirely and restarting the computer (Gives me BSOD too)
- Disabling the driver and enabling it again
- Restarting the Windows Audio Service
Things I have noticed :
- If I'm lucky enough to have sound, here are the things which will make it fade;
1.) Mute (if you unmute you will hear nothing, wow)
2.) Plugging in a pair of headphones
3.) Setting your volume to 0 (not the same as mute)
You need to enter a bunch of information to get to the download drivers page in TOSHIBA's support page but it takes long so here is a link to save you some time
