Will this computer be able to handle modern games?

Hello. I have a friend who wants a gaming computer. I was looking at parts to get an idea what I could build for him, so I priced out what would be a decent setup for around 550 dollars. However, I recently was looking around Craigslist and found a computer for sale:

i5 760 2.8ghz quad core processor
GTX 550 ti
4 gigs of ram. (The ad doesn't list what sort)
for only 100 dollars.

I know these parts are dated, but I did some comparisons with gpuboss/cpuboss. I used to have a computer with an Athlon ii x4 630 2.8ghz quad core cpu and Radeon hd 4850 graphics card and it was decent enough to play modern games. Maybe not max settings, but playable at 1080 nonetheless.

According to gpuboss/cpuboss the i5 760 and gtx 550 ti are both *slightly* better than my previous setup with the athlon/radeon - so if that information is correct, it should be a suitable setup for a playable experience.

However, I'm quite skeptical of cpu/gpuboss because I've seen some pretty outrageous claims that I know for a fact aren't true, so I figured I'd get some input.

The only thing that has me immediately concerned is the 4gigs of ram. I know ram is an easy replacement, but the part I'm worried about is actually *finding* older ram to fit into the mobo (which at this time, I don't know what mobo it is. Unlisted in the ad)

Please keep in mind, I know these are dated and nowhere near top of the line, but he's on a very tight budget and if this would be a suitable gaming experience I'd rather he be able to save the 400 dollars as opposed to me building him one. So please no "get this part instead of that" suggestions, considering this is all part of a craigslist ad. Thanks for your time!

yeah, it will be ok for gaming, not great, but ok. Ram, even older rrd2 ram is easy to get a hold of. Im pretty sure it would use ddr3 though. Just make sure you buy an 8gb matched kit so there are no incompatibilities, remove the 4gb that is in there. Also take note of what power supply is in the machine, you dont want it blowing up. The cpu is the most capable part of the system and can be overclocked easily. The gpu is upgradeable if the power supply supports it.
