I'm in a bad spot. I have 3 drives that were configured in a RAID 5 server is old its down, I have HDD I need to get some data off of them. I don't have the original server equipment available or controller card that was attached to them. How can I get the data from HDD.

Is there any way possible to recover the data from them? Possible using a usb connection of some sort?

Solution
If you don't have the controller card to attach these disks to then I would say that your chances of recovering data from them are slim. If it is important you may want to contact a data recovery firm before you do something that will put the data out of reach for good.

The normal answer to this sort of question is "restore the data from your backups", but as you are asking I'm guessing that you didn't take backups. Big mistake.

There is RAID recovery software you can use. R-Studio is popular. UFSexplorer is also good.

The thing is you need to know the original drive order, stripe size, parity direction, and offset if any.
