I have one GTX 970 Strix OC edition I read the specifications of the this card which is a base cock of 1114Mhz and a boost of 1253Mhz well after using MSI afterburner to view my cards clocks my card runs differently to these numbers that is advertised is it something to worry about?

base clock on my card is 1113 Mhz and boost is 1329MHz this is with no overclock is this normal if so put my mind at rest.

probably does it because the card can handle it ok--it will downclock if it cant

1329mhz isnt that high for a gtx970 probably find you could reach around 1500mhz or so using afterburner

Thanks man, just a little worried considering the last gtx 970 I had I bust through overclocking that was to 1400 if I remember right using GPU tweak which didn't end well haven't overclocked this one but still a little worried.

Thanks man, so question if I made a custom bios running 1329mhz which is my highest when gaming could the card handle this overtime? just wondering cause going sli and there is issues with these cards in sli want to get the most out of them.

overclocking it to 1400mhz shouldnt bust it thats not an extreme overclock at all

if it couldnt run 1400mhz it would either downclock or crash

the gtx970 only allows adding about 100mv (0.1v) they are quite conservative with the voltage overclock unlike some

earlier cards

Well as said before in this thread 1329mhz is not very high OC for a GTX 970, so it should run OK for long time (2-3 years) with that max clock. From personal usage I know that my card runs fine at maximum clock similar to yours for about half a year now, with default settings with no external software intervention and my ASIC quality is 67.6% which is not particularly high. If your ASIC quality is similar or better you should not experience problems.
