AMD FX-8320 4.7 GHz 1.4375 V a safe voltage?

I disabled Turbo Core for my initial overclocking attempts, but once I'd established a solid base clock, I was able to grab a little more speed by creating a Turbo Core profile that ranged up to 4.8GHz at 1.55V. Here's how a pair of our benchmarks ran on the overclocked FX-8350.Feb 3, 2013 yes it should be.

I don't suspect it is a problem if things are nice and cool and stable.

Next time you pull your HSF the second group of numbers on the second line of the chip will tell you the Year and Week your CPU was 'baked'

I''ll take a wild guess you have something in the 14 40-range (meaning Year 2014 / Week 40).

Your motherboard has a lot to do with it, too. I've got a GB GA-970A-UD3P that sets default voltage at 1.4375v with an FX-6350, and I can run FireStrike at 4.7GHz - 1.37v with TX-4 cooling.

The big question is where you hit the **AMD Volt Wall** ???

If you can run 4.5GHz at 1.375v, I don't think the extra clock speed is worth the extra volts. A few hundred MHz and 40- to 50w at the wall ? Nah.

And that's where the sweet spots are -- right before you have to crank the volts more than +0.0125v to get another 100MHz.

I have the same mobo and the same cpu and random water cooling that I don't know the name i have 4.5 ghz at 1.425v don't go anywhere pass that voltage or the vrm might fail
