Keep my Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 or get an AMD 860K?

I currently have a Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 and was looking at a AMD 860K - Is it worth the cost to upgrade? I mean, I'm a bit iffy about quadcores - I've always heard 2 cores was better than 4 for gaming, but I dunno.

Thanks for your time guys.

Both are great motherboards , do not forget that you need new 2x4 GB ram 1866

Quad core gaming is better than dual core as data can be spread into 4 cores

The more important thing is the Core power ; The core in 860k is more powerful than the core in E7400 which will increase gaming + normal usage .
also there are modern games which refuse to run on a dual core processor

Oh, thanks for the reply! I had edited my question to get quicker replies, but I guess you saw it before I did. Those motherboards look great - I think I`ll go for the Asus A88XM, thanks for the help! :)
