Hello everyone,
I recently picked the parts and assembled a low end gaming pc for a friend.I had some decent experience on the subject as I have repaired and upgraded a lot of systems in the past but this one turned out it wasn't as easy as I expected.The hardware items are:
-----------------------------------------------------
CPU -> AMD FX 6300 3.5Ghz 6-core box
MOBO->Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2 Retail
RAM ->2x4gb Ram sticks
GPU ->Asus Radeon r7 260x
HDD ->WD Caviar Blue 1tb
PSU ->Corsair 450W series
------------------------------------------------------
After I finished the asembly everything seemed to be working fine, all fans were spinning and I had connected the pc to a TV via HDMI.That's when I found out there was nothing displayed on the screen.I tried connecting via VGA without any success.I then swapped the RAM sticks, tried with one stick, still nothing.I tried powering the system by connecting it through the mobo video slot (the graphics card was still on board and psu connected) but it didn't work.I also tried most of what the forum suggests except for removing the MOBO battery to accomplish BIOS reset because I didn't have enough time.I later found out PSU power was too low for the mobo and I guess not adequate to support this GPU at the same time.My question is, should I get a higher Watt PSU ? How should I proceed ?

Solution
Try re-seating the card on the motherboard. If you're testing the on-board video, go ahead and pop the 260 out and then try booting from the on-board video.

My best friend just had the same issue with his PC. He took it to a specialist and from what he told me it was a motherboard issue and a pin on the cpu was bent. hope that provides some help
