Need help installing OS on a blank had with no cd/dvd drive.

I formatted my hard drive, now no matter what I select to boot from I get the following message " Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device "

formatting erases all info from the hard drive, you have to install an operating system if you want to boot from it. or boot from another drive that has the OS already installed.
