Hello, i tried to install Windows 8 from dvd on my Samsung Evo840 SSD.

But I choose the disk it says:
"Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu."

Bios is on AHCI
Boot priority is SSD first the DVD
I formated the disk in MBR aswell in GTP for UEFI (same problem)
I tried different sata slots for both the SSD & DVD

Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-M
Disk: Samsung 840 EVO SSD

Any suggestions?

Is the SSD plugged in the SATA 1 Port? SATA #0,1,2,3 are usually the ones that can boot, while #4,5,6,7 will have (most likely) a different colour, and uses a different controller that needs to be enabled via drivers, hence won't boot.

Here's what I mean :

The ports in blue are those that are bootable, the white ones are using a custom chipset to enable some more ports.

Yes on the first try i formated it within the installation. After that i did it with discpart.

And I guess it works, when I plug in a second HDD where win8 is already installed I can use the SSD without a problem as storage. Just installing win seems to be a problem.
