Hello,
My eMachines E442 (almost 4yrs old I think) is in a bit of a pickle at the moment. It worked fine until this afternoon, when it told me that the battery was getting low. I checked if it was plugged in, and it was!
I never use the battery as it does not hold charge (dies in about 30 mins).
But now it won't work without the battery. I tried it without and it turns on, but won't get past the red windows 10 loading screen (switched a couples back, that shouldn't be the issue, right?)
If I wait a bit while it's off, the battery will have loaded a bit and it will turn on and start, to the point where it's actually working normally, but with a (very) limited time window. The battery doesn't charge while it's on.
Do you have any idea as to what to do? I've already done a CMOS clear and it didn't work.
I've posted this in the motherboard section as I've read that it could be the power supply/motherboard that's faulty. However, that does sound a bit funny considering that it will turn on and work while on battery.
Thanks in advance for your help
Cheers
