Im confused. I was reccomended the gtx 750 ti for my new build, but there are a ton of manufacturers and different looking ones on amazon. Are they different performance wise, or do they just look different?

Solution
Graphics cards 101:

When a graphics card manufacturer (either Nvidia or AMD) design and make a GPU, they release it on a 'reference' graphics card. They also supply the GPU to other companies, such as Asus, EVGA, MSI, Zotac, Sapphire etc.

Each of these companies are free to design their own cards built around the GPU.

They will all be slightly different. For example, some will overclock the GPu for more performance, and most will add their own cooling system and design.

Generally, it is a good idea to chose one of these third-party cards rather than the a reference model, as they are usually better.

That said, you do not currently want to get a 750ti. The new Maxwell 900 series from Nvidia is much better. Go for a 950 or 960...

Whats you're build? Because if its a name brand site like alienware, ibuypower etc don't get a pre-built one. I recommend building your own and using the gtx 9602gb that can play gta v and many other games at 60 fps. Plus it will be cheaper

i think the best GTX 750Ti was from Gigabyte.... The Gigabyte GTX 750Ti Black Edition.....

but now go for a GTX 960 2Gb or a GTX 950.... Best GTX 960 2Gb is by EVGA.... EVGA SSC with ACX2.0+ GTX 960 2Gb....

Best GTX 950 i dont know as of yet.... but its better to get a GTX 960....

The difference in clock speed is hardly notable, in some cases there are some with more memory but most of the real difference come in the cooling solution each brand and model use on it, you can probably pick one taking into consideration how reliable the brand is, how hot and noisier it gets at high/full load, money, and finally by its looks. So is up to you to choose the one that suits all your needs. some of the popular brands are Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, EVGA, PALIT, PNY, the first 4 being the most popular ones.
