I am looking to upgrade my Dell XPS 8300 graphic card. I currently have the stock 460W PSU and a Radeon HD 6850. I was thinking of getting the new Radeon R9 380 (I would get the Sapphire as it has the legacy BIOS support). Has anyone successfully installed this in the XPS 8300?
If so, did you have to upgrade the PSU or could the stock 460W suffice (despite the recommendations of 500W). If I have to upgrade the PSU, I am looking for one that can easily mount in the existing space using existing drill holes. I have seen conflicting reports on this forum re PSUs with the XPS 8300 and whether the AC plug will line up with the cutouts in the case. From my research I was considering this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151096 but would take any recommendations known to work with this case.
