A RAM card in my Toshiba laptop stopped working and now we're only left with a 2GB card. My dad and I are trying to restore the laptop to what it used to be (2x2GB), but are considering bumping it to 2x4GB. We are wondering if a pair of Komputerbay 4GB cards will be compatible and if it's worth spending the extra 130 dollars, compared to spending 10 dollars on just another 2GB
For reference, the cards we are considering
Komputerbay:

Samsung (same as the card already installed): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0026SD96G/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3LKWIQ3PBTNT2

Solution
I just reference crucial so you would know if the option was really available. Since it is then you have a chance with the komputerBay ram and take back what I said about their pricing. LoL

Be sure to find out their return policy before you buy, when buying untested ram theres always a chance it wont work right so be sure you can return them.

komputerbay seems to be a complete rip off imo.

Does your computer even support 8gb?
Do you have a 64bit OS so that it can use 8gb (32bit is maxed out at 4gb)

You can visit crucial.com and input the exact make and model# of your laptop to see what it actually supports (it will be on the left side of the screen)

My laptop is a Satellite L505-S6959
It says on crucial that my system can support up to 8gb, then listed a few "crucial" options, including 2x4gb for 200 dollars. Will the 140 dollar Komputerbay ones work or are the crucial ones the only compatible ones?
