I have a gigabyte f2a55m-ds2 model motherboard which i think... has 1x PCI-E 2.0 and was wondering would a SAPPHIRE Radeon R9 270X be compatable? Ive read about "backwards" or something before and was wondering if someone could go into detailed help for me, thanks.

ANY GPU will be compatible it will just not utilize all of its performance cause of pci2.0 allows less bandwindth to be utilized

Simply:

Yes its compatible it will just have fewer FPS than having a pci3.0 x16 slot motherboard ;)

Yes it will work with very minimal to no difference at all. Be more concerned with your psu, if it can handle the upgrade. A single 270x needs at least 500w
