What is the best possible video card I can put in a 330w X51 Alienware system? It appears the GTX 960 4GB all require too much power. (400w)

That, or is there an easy way to upgrade the PSU?

I currently have:
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 Ti with 2G GDDR5
16GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1600Mhz (2x8GB)
4th Generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790 processor (8MB Cache, up to 3.6GHz)
Alienware 330 Watt Power Supply (external)

The main reason I ask is I'm pretty sure mine has kicked the bucket. My computer wont power on anymore. The PSU works, and the computer gets powers (the little power button light even turns on), but the fans wont spin up and no boot happens. It just "lights up" and does nothing. Figure probably the video card.

if you can power a 760ti, then you can power a 960. those dell power supplies seem to be very specialized so that they can power higher end cards with lower wattages. I guess they just allocate the power well. what do you mean by external power supply?
