Upgrade-SLI/crossfire never works. I know because I tried it. You will just waste lots of money and get lower performance than the latest generation, missing features and still have all the multi GPU disadvantages.
Better buy a fast one now and just upgrade it when it gets too slow.

^^^This. Plus its always better to have one high performance GPU over two weaker ones since SLI/CF can have issues such as heat, micro-stuttering and graphic distortions due to driver incompatibility.
