Building new desktop: AMD question

So I've been looking at some DIY combo deals from neweggs. Since I don't want to spend too much money on my new rig, I'm more looking into AMD stuff. Here's the combo I'm looking at right now: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.2451932 . So first of all, is the combo worth it? Also, will it run smoothly games like LoL and CS:GO? Lastly, my main question is if I could later on add an AMD Radeon GPU. I mean, it says the APU has Radeon R7 graphics, so if I add a GPU would it mess things up? And would the power supply be enough to support this whole system plus the added, say, Radeon R7/R9?

Thanks!

That combo is a great starting point for entry-level gaming. You can also add either an AMD or Nvidia discrete GPU to the computer, but as logainofhades said, you'd want a better power supply if you went with that option.

For right now I'm thinking of something like 500-600 CAD$, excluding the GPU, as I will add it after I built the system.

You'll need an operating system to throw in with that combo, I missed that a moment ago.

Yes, I would obviously upgrade the PSU. Also, is there a big difference between the AMD A10 7700 and the AMD A10 7750K? Last question: is toshiba a decent company for the HDD?

Thanks!

Yes I know, I haven't forgotten about it :p

The difference between the 7700k and the 7850k is that the 7850 has a slightly higher clock speed and 2 more GPU cores. In the long run, the additional GPU cores aren't worth it for you, as you are interested in a discrete GPU down the road.

Now these APU's can crossfire with specific R7 cards. In my opinion it isn't worth it to run the APU/GPU crossfire because the designated GPU's that can do this are low-end, the R7 240/250.

Here is a link http://wccftech.com/amd-kaveri-dual-graphics-works-ddr3-memory-based-radeon-r7-gpus/

Toshiba is an alright HDD manufacturer. I suggest a using a SSD for primary storage when you can afford it, and transition the HDD to a storage drive.

This would be faster, than that APU, right from the start.

Hmm seems like an interesting build... I alwasy thought intel pentiums weren't really good since they're an old series... Can they still be good and make a fast pc?

Pentiums are non hyperthreaded dual cores.
They're decent desktop chips & overclocked have good performance, they also have a good upgrade oath to other 1150 socket chips but they're too restrictive IMO - if you're not going to have the funds to upgrade the CPU within the next 6-12 months steer clear.
On the Intel side an i3 minimum IMO.

Ugh different opinions everywhere xD... Let's say I do go with an AMD APU like the A10, then I add a GPU from either Nvidia or ATI, will I get good performance at 1080p for games like LoL? Also, will that APU give me decent computer speed for internet browsing and multitasking?

I3 build - no GPU but you'll get by for general use until you can afford to drop one in.

Lol... There are so many opinions that I am not sure what to do anymore xD . So if I get an A10, can I still use any GPU with it? Also, is my system gonna run faster overall if I get Intel Pentium instead of AMD A10?

Thanks!

If you get the A10, yes you can still use any GPU with it. The CPU side is so weak, that bottlenecking will become a problem, with many midrange and better graphics cards. The A10 7700k's gpu is slower than that of a 7850k. The 7850k is only equal to an R7 240, which is two tiers below the 730 GDDR5, that I linked earlier. Yes the pentium is not a great multitasker, but those games are not very multithreaded. You can also overclock to 4.0ghz, easily, with just the stock cooler. LoL can run well on any modern CPU. Even a lowly, and old, Athlon II X2 260 can manage decent FPS. CS:GO is not very demanding either, and the Pentium can easily handle it.

Alright... Thanks MadMat for telling me how to paste my pcpartpicker build. So I went to a Canada Computers store, asked a guy working there and told him what I basically want in my desktop and for which price. He does this for a living, so I guess the build he gave me should be pretty good for 600-700$. Here's the build he suggested me:

CPU: AMD A10-7850K 3.7GHz Quad-Core Processor ($162.99 @ NCIX)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-D3H Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard ($84.50 @ Vuugo)

With that build, can I still add any ATI Radeon or Nvidia Geforce GTX GPU? Also, do you guys suggest any changes?

Thanks!

If you want pay for OS is your choice :)
Is fine except PSU is not best but ok for APU, case is overpriced, this HDD is around 40% slower compared to 1TB in my Bulid.

And this build will provide around 3x less FPS in games ;)

If your budget is $600-700, you can do better than that. That PSU is junk, case is too expensive, for a budget build. 320gb HDD is not enough storage. If you really want an AMD rig.
