Ok so yes 6870 Old gpu nowadays very cheap 30-40 Euros. Im planing on Pc upgrade so here it is 2x http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00J8E8YSY/?tag=pcpapi-20 so 16 gb ram. SSD http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KW3MTBS/?tag=pcpapi-20 for windows only and boot. And http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817194039 PSU. Well all that will cost me around 170-180 euros. and my budged it 200-210 euros.. SO i was wondering is it ok to buy used 6870 hd ? ( to delay buying newer gpu ). + i have heard that in sli 6870 in gta shows 2gb of vram? lol... Sorry for my bad english. And my motherboard is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128415 do i need to buy 2x4 gb ram or i can go with 1x8 + 1x8 ? i dont know that

Solution
That is a great Idea! The 7870 is a pretty good card for 1080P gaming, The performance level will make it worth the extra 20- 30 over the 6870. And yes you might as well get 8GB of system ram as the price clearly dictates it is a better buy.

well used 7 series is 100+ euros and 5 gforce is 100+ so 6 is around 200 E used... so why is the 6870 foolish? i mean to dealy buying new gpu.. But 40 euros i can spend on used 6870

I'm afraid for any type of modern gaming the 1GB frame buffer on the 6870 will not be sufficient. As for 6870 in crossfire, never will it ever be able to use the 1Gb per gpu as the card is nowhere near dx 12 compliant, this means you will always have 1GB of video memory. when using two cards.

How much system ram do you have currently? If it's above 4Gb I believe you are spending your money all in the wrong place. if you want to enjoy moderate gaming on current games, drop the ssd stick to 6GB plus of system memory and buy a proper gpu as I mentioned 7 series and 6 series from nvidia as a baseline.

The 6870 is terribly old and is being sold cheap as it's just not enough gpu for morden games. For a gaming pc your money is being spent in the wrong places. If you wish to play a game here and there a 68870 will do, it has no place in a modern-ish gaming pc.

yeah i get what you are saying.... I have 4gb ddr3 kingston hyper x 2x2 on 1600 mhz.... Well can i put 2x4? or 1x8? i have 500W psu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341016 ? will it be good for 7 series amd or 6 series nvidia? i think not... Anyway my cpu is amd ii x4 phenom 965 b edition. I build my pc in 2011 back then was a good machine but now is old. so i dont want to build new one ( honestly dont have money) and i dont want to coz every 3-4 years you have to change everything to match games. For me that is beyond foolish " like you said. + here let's say 980 gtx ti is around 1000 euros. and in US it's 600$ haha

Your psu is enough for most 6 and or 7 series nvidia cards, perhaps not a 780 or 780 ti or gtx 690 but seeing how those are not in your price range that is a non issue. As you seem to want top keep costs low perhaps a gtx 660 or even 650 ti boost or even a 650 ti for that matter. AMD perhaps a 7850 or 7870. All will far better performing than a 6870.

While a bit older perhaps even a gtx 580 which should be fairly low in price these days.

While pretty old there is still some life in the 955, if you don't need top of the line in most situations it would do the trick. If possible only to keep costs down perhaps look at an addition 2GB or 4Gb set to get your ram up to a modern level.

Thanks a lot Spentshells! All best and cheers. ( 1 more question Do you maybe think r9 280x is a good choice too? Or my cpu will bottleneck ? ). And im planing to overclock my Phenom to 4ghz.. And if i get Single Or crossfire cards to overclock them. That is the reason why im going with Enermax 85+ 1050w

Yes the 280x/7970 is another good step up. As for the bottleneck yes it will, will you see large gains over the 7870? Yes you will. The 280x/7970 will really be taking your psu to the limit. It can be done but it's starting to approach the limit for your psu especially if you overclock peak power consumption is quite high as much as 330 watts. Without a psu upgrade I can't really recommend it but it is possible.

In short yes but the long version is to pick up a decent quality 600 watt psu. It will be enough and likely cheaper. If you can get a good deal on that one then do so but it's way more than you need. You could power basically anything with that. It has good reviews surprisingly. I personally wouldn't go with enermax but it seems to be of good quality
