Hey,
My current setup is as mentioned below and was thinking of adding the Zotac NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB GDDR5 to the mix:

Currently running windows 7, 64 Bit
Processor: AMD A-10 6800k APU (4.10 ghz)
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-G1.Sniper A88X FM2+ / FM2
Ram: 8 GB

So with the addition of the Zotac NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB GDDR5, would I be able to run games like Witcher 3, GTA 5, Shadow of mordor etc?

Also would it be advisable to get a graphics card which is crossfire compatible or would the GTX 750 ti 2gb be fine?

Solution

Get the Gtx 950 as it is faster, doesn't require much more power than a 750ti and can SLI assuming you get a faster processor down the road.

Don't worry about 2GB Vram, it takes a much faster GPU before you...

What settings do you want to run at?

It would run them, but only just. It comes down to what resolution you intend to play at, quality and fps. If you want to play at 1080p, high settings and get 60 fps, then it's nowhere near enough. If you play 720p, medium settings then it should give 60 fps. On slightly older games it would do fine at 1080p, but you did ask about really demanding modern games.
The GTX 750 Ti is an amazing GPU for what it is (entry level), however if your serious about gaming then you need something like a GTX 970 of R9 390.

Almost any PC can run almost any game. It all depends on how high (or low) your performance expectations are.

I'm still mostly happy with my 5-6 years old HD5770 at 1200p since I do not care about eye-candy much and I often end up turning it down just to reduce visual clutter that I find visually distracting/annoying anyway.

It would have been nice if you provided a budget. Also I don't know anything about the AMD A-10 6800K. But I thought APU's were for people who only needed integrated graphics, not gamers. I could be wrong though. Moving on...

Were it me, I'd get

Intel i5-4690K & compatible motherboard (powerful and overclockable)
Hyper 212 EVO cpu cooler (works very well and only cost USD$35)
8 GB RAM
Samsung 850 EVO SSD (faster Windows bootup and game loading)
MSI GTX 970 4G Gaming card
EVGA G2 650 (an i5-4690K and GTX 970 don't need this much power, but it gives you the option to upgrade up to a i7-5820 + GTX 980 Ti in the future).
case; whatever case you like.

* Also, you should consider creating a build on http://pcpartpicker.com/ or asking us to create one for you. You need to list a budget and what resolution that you plan on playing at. e.g. 1080p @ 60 FPS, 1440p, etc.

30-40 fps

medium/high settings i would imagine, some tweaking of settings to get playable

overclocking the cpu would help quite a bit.

Yeah APUs are often for people who don't want a graphics card, but that does mean you can't add one later, which is what they are doing here. The question was, would a GTX 750 Ti work good on their existing system.

Thanks for the reply. I have already got everything except the graphics card .So my budget would be about 180$. Also not too picky about the FPS, as long as the games are playable.

Not expecting anything fancy as long as the games are playable.Maybe medium to high settings. With a budget of about 180$, could you suggest an alternative to the graphics cards mentioned as I have already acquired everything else.

I'd say go take a look at the gtx 960. you can find it for around 175. Check this link: http://.

That's just thought. If you are OK with used cards you could even maybe catch a deal on eBay for a gtx 770 for around that price. Safer option though might be the 960 I linked.
