Make sure in disk management to show hidden drives. Same thing happened to me. It also needs to be initialized, mine did as soon as I set it to show hidden drives, but you may have to right click on it(forgot that originally).

Hi there Jaky516,

I'm sorry that you are facing some issues with your WD drive. :(
Most of the times, when a drive is recognized by BIOS but not Disk Management, it has to do with drivers. So, it may be a good idea to go to your MOBO's website and update your SATA drivers.
Another thing you can try is to boot up Ubuntu from a CD or a flash drive and try to partition and format the drive. Then you can boot up Windows again and see whether the HDD will be properly recognized. Thread on Ubuntu Live CD: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/267999-32-recover-data-mode

In case the issue persists, I guess you can try something simple as just attaching the drive to a different SATA port with different cables. If you connect it to a different system, you will be absolutely sure whether there is something wrong with the drive itself or with your system.

I guess testing the drive with WD's DLG tool for DOS will not hurt: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=6QK7HL

Let me know how this goes,
