hey guys,

so whatever I am doing sometimes my cpu core speed drop from 4000 to 1396.
when this happens when I am playing any game a get insane fps drops (from 80 to 15)
I tested my temps with HWmonitor and they are all good. also I double checked the cpu clock speed droppings in CPU-Z.

SPECS:

Motherboard: ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0
Processor: AMD FX-8350, 4,0 GHz
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper212 Evo
Video Card: GIGABYTE GV-N970G1
Memory: Corsair 8 GB DDR3-1600 (x2)
Hard Drive: Seagate Desktop SSHD, 1 TB

Solution
It's up to you, but add a fan to cool the VRM and if it resolves the issue, then you can decide to either keep the current motherboard with the added fan on the CPU VRM or buy a new motherboard. Your current motherboard should be fine if the CPU VRM is cooled properly.

u want me to test something or show u something?

Your issue is that you completely ignored the ASRock note "* For cooling the CPU and its surrounding components, please install a CPU cooler with a top-down blowing design." Install a fan (or the correct type of CPU cooler) to cool the CPU VRM and your problem will be taken care of.

But how come that other people with this motherboard cpu combination dont have this issue?

How do you know they don't? Their build and ambient temperature are identical? I may be wrong but please install a small fan to cool the CPU VRM to see if it resolves the issue. It's the only thing that can cause that problem if the thermal margins at full load reported by AMD Overdrive are 10°C or higher.

Edit: You can't compare that motherboard that has a 4+1 VRM with a Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P that has an 8+2 VRM.

So The best solution is a better motherboard, yes? Which one would u suggest for OC cpu and Gpu im the future?

The GA-970A-UD3P and the MSI 970 Gaming both provide a good CPU VRM solution. A 990FX chipset based motherboard may be better, but they are more expensive. As an example, the latest version of the GA-990FXA-UD3 supports 220W processors. If I were you, I'd still add a fan to cool the VRMs to make absolutely sure that's the issue. Google for what other people have done to solve that issue.

So you think its better when I first test if the vrm is the problem, so yes then buy a new motherboard?

so u think a case cooler is enough?

you send me the link of a case cooler, but whatever.
but dude like I said I don't really understand anything of those pictures and what the people say, so could u be a little more straightforward and say what I should do

Buy an Antec SpotCool fan and get it to blow directly on top of the CPU VRM heat sink and MOSFETs. I presume you know it's between the CPU and the back of the case. If unsure, look at the picture in post #2 at http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=254771 that clearly shows the heat sink circled in red and the MOSFETs with yellow lines. The fan should cool the heat sink and the 5 MOSFETs below the heat sink.

yes I totally understand everything now, but one more thing, if the noise is not a problem for me can I just use the old cpu cooler? and does the guy with the pictures also use that cooler?

I don't know what cooler he installed after taking the picture. What's the old CPU cooler? The one that came with the FX-8350 and never was installed? If so, yes you could use it. You need to thoroughly clean the thermal paste with isopropyl alcohol and use new paste.
