Hello,

I have finished assembling components for my first pc custom build. And now I am trying to turn it on to see if it goes to the bios. However, the monitor is not getting any signal. I have tried using an HDMI and a D-sub to see if it was the cable, and both cables are not able to acquire any signal.

Parts:
Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor
ASRock H97 PERFORMANCE ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Crucial Ballistix Tactical 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Seagate Barracuda 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Superclocked ACX 2.0 Video Card
XFX TS 650W 80+ Gold Certified ATX Power Supply
TP-Link TL-WDN4800 802.11a/b/g/n PCI-Express x1 Wi-Fi Adapter

I have attempted some of the troubleshooting that is posted on the sticky's.

So, what happens is that when I push the power button on the case to turn it on, the power LED turns on, case fans turn on, cpu fan turns on, and GPU fan turns on. After about 25 seconds, GPU fan turns off and all the other fans stay on.

Any advice for further trouble shooting?

Solution
Are you plugging the monitor into the ports on the GPU or the motherboard, needs to be plugged in to the GPU ports.

have you done a bios/cmos reset?? Check motherboard manual for best instructions on how to do this.
Have you tried connecting your HDMI cable to the motherboard HDMI port instead of the one on the video card?
Perhaps you just need to use that to go into the BIOS and change the graphical settings to the PCIe slot as your video device.

"After about 25 seconds, GPU fan turns off and all the other fans stay on."
Suspicious but not guaranteed to be the cause. Some video cards turn off the fans when they are not needed.

If the motherboard HDMI idea isn't working then I'd call the manufacturer OR return it to the store.

Also, I didn't think about it at first cause I assumed you didn't have a D-Sub on your motherboard but you should have the HDMI cable connected to the VIDEO CARD not the motherboard. If you have it connected to the motherboard it will not work.

I have been connecting hdmi and dsub to the motherboard and NOT the video card.

So, I connected the dsub to the video card and it worked! thanks for the answers!

However, know I have another question, what am I supposed to do now haha? Is installing windows or an OS the next step?

Yes. Go ahead and install your OS (Windows).
